IDL Colour
Coating based in Byfleet, Surrey offers general engineering
and powder coating services including steel fabrication,
machining, sheet metalwork, wirework, tube bending, product
development and refurbishments to industry across the South
of England.
Services
Operating from our dedicated
10,000 ft2 production facility in Byfleet, Surrey, IDL Colour Coating
offer a broad range of engineering services specialising in complex and involved
one offs, prototype and refurbishment work.
We serve the South East and all areas of London although we are also happy to
consider work from all over the UK.
 Steel
Fabrication
We
carry out secondary steel fabrication both on and off site
including architectural, industrial, building, and general
purpose work such as walkways, gantries, mezzanines, staircases,
railings, balconies and signs. As
well as new work we also carry out refurbishments and repairs
to existing steel structures. Some of our clients include
Swiss Re, County Hall and Moorhouse.
Sheet
Metal
IDL
Colour Coating offer both medium volume sheet metal fabrication
as well as one off and prototype work including product
development in a range of materials from 1mm thin gauge
sheetmetal to heavier gauge plate work upto 10mm thick.
We also have experience with copper, brass, and aluminium
as well as mild steel and stainless steel. All items can
be finished to specification, packed and shipped as required.
We operate a dedicated stainless steel fabrication department
which is kept clean from contamination, specialising in
the fabrication of catering equipment.
Machining
In
support of our general fabrication services we offer machining
for small batch production and secondary operations. Our
machine shop has a range of NC lathes, mills and drills
capable of handling work upto 100kg. For a detailed view

also machine and fabricate special tools for the electricity
market used to crimp and sign wires which are sold through
a wholesaler to a predominantly third world market place.
 Prototyping
We
specialise in prototyping and product development including
work for the race car market, the sign industry and the
process engineering sector as well as assisting in the
design and fabricating special purpose vehicles for The
London Underground and trolleys for repairing undercarriages
for airplanes. The picture to the right shows a novel mobile
bar which we fabricated for use at outdoor functions.
Finishing
We
carry out a whole range of finishing services as part of
our one stop shop service. In house services include plastic & powder
coating, stove enamelling, and vapour degreasing although
we have close relations with local companies for paint
stripping, shot blasting, electroplating and galvanising.
